Can hospital AI infrastructure meet data residency requirements?

Infrastructure deployed on hospital premises keeps patient data physically within the institution and its jurisdiction, which is the requirement most residency obligations are concerned with. Whether a specific deployment satisfies a specific obligation depends on that obligation and the institution's own controls, and is addressed explicitly during the architecture review.

Where can this be installed in a hospital that has no data centre?

Typically existing plant rooms, service areas or repurposed rooms. The binding constraints are electrical capacity, floor loading and access rather than the presence of a data hall, and all three are assessed before any commitment.

Is liquid cooling safe in a clinical building?

It depends entirely on the architecture. Leak risk is the primary design constraint in healthcare deployments, and CoralDC selects the thermal architecture accordingly, including approaches where a leak is physically prevented rather than merely monitored for.

Health systems have among the strongest reasons to adopt AI and among the strongest constraints on where it can run. CoralDC deploys private AI infrastructure inside hospital and health authority premises, under the institution's own control, in buildings with no data hall and no room to build one.

Patient data is governed by residency, consent and access obligations that make public cloud AI either non-compliant or so heavily conditioned that projects stall in privacy review. Meanwhile the physical estate is hostile to high-density compute: no data hall, constrained electrical capacity, floor loading limits in older buildings, acoustic limits near clinical areas, infection control requirements affecting air handling, and no space that is not already contested.

The result is a familiar pattern. The clinical or research case is approved, the data governance question is unresolved, and the project waits.

What this means physically

Liquid cooling in a clinical building raises a specific question before it raises any other: what happens if it leaks. In most buildings that is a risk assessment. Above an operating theatre, an imaging suite or a pharmacy it is frequently a veto.
