AI Strategy and Architecture

Before any engineering begins, the infrastructure, data, governance and delivery-sequencing decisions have to be made correctly, and made together. This engagement produces the roadmap and the architecture, translating institutional reality into a mandate precise enough to build against.

What buyers receive

A current-state assessment across the relevant layers of the stack (infrastructure, data, governance, existing AI initiatives); a prioritized roadmap sequencing which layers and use cases to build first, based on business value and technical dependency; an architecture decision record covering deployment topology (Layer 01), data platform and governance design (Layer 04/06), and the technology selections and trade-offs relevant to the customer's specific regulatory and operational environment; and a defined engagement plan for the delivery phase that follows, whether Forward-Deployed Engineering, Managed AI Operations, or both.

Decision gates

Entry: a scoping conversation establishing the business problem, current technical estate and regulatory environment (typically the outcome of a Turnkey AI Briefing). Mid-engagement: a current-state assessment review with the customer's technical and business stakeholders before the roadmap is finalized. Exit: an approved architecture decision record and roadmap, with the customer choosing whether to proceed into delivery with CoralDC/Scignal or to take the roadmap to another delivery path; the strategy engagement's output belongs to the customer regardless.

Roles

Scignal domain strategists (the "Translate/Echo" function described in the brochure) work directly with the customer's business and technical stakeholders to convert operational reality, legacy-system constraints, regulatory posture, organizational readiness, into a precise engineering mandate. CoralDC infrastructure architects are engaged wherever the roadmap touches Layer 01 deployment decisions, so the sovereignty and infrastructure implications of the roadmap are resolved during strategy, not discovered during delivery.

Governance

The engagement produces a documented, versioned architecture decision record, not an informal recommendation; every major decision (deployment topology, technology selection, data governance model) is recorded with its rationale and trade-offs, so it remains auditable and explainable to stakeholders who were not in the room.

Acceptance criteria

A roadmap and architecture decision record reviewed and approved by the customer's technical and business sponsors, with explicit sign-off on the deployment topology and data governance model before any delivery engagement begins against it.

Operating handover

The roadmap and architecture decision record transfer directly into whichever delivery engagement follows; if delivery proceeds with CoralDC/Scignal, the same domain strategists remain engaged through delivery to ensure the mandate is executed as scoped, not reinterpreted by a new team.

Do we have to commit to a delivery engagement to get a strategy engagement?

This depends entirely on the scope, current-state complexity and number of stakeholders involved, and is defined during initial scoping rather than fixed in advance.

What if our current infrastructure isn't CoralDC's?

The current-state assessment and roadmap are infrastructure-agnostic at this stage; the architecture decision record will recommend a deployment topology based on the requirement, which may point to existing infrastructure, a hybrid approach, or new CoralDC-provisioned capacity.
