Yes, with remote monitoring and managed operations. Sealed liquid-cooled systems remove the maintenance burden associated with air filtration and dust ingress, which is the dominant failure mode for conventional equipment at these sites.

What ambient conditions can a deployment tolerate?

Coral OnPrem is specified for an operating temperature range of minus 25 C to plus 50 C, storage from minus 35 C to 60 C, relative humidity 5 to 95 percent non-condensing, and operating altitude up to 3,000 metres, with recommended ambient up to 45 C. The operating envelope for a specific configuration and site is confirmed during the architecture review.

The constraint

Resource operations generate enormous volumes of sensor, imaging and process data at sites where sending it anywhere is slow, expensive or impossible, and where the physical environment is actively hostile to computing equipment.

Satellite or constrained terrestrial connectivity makes moving raw data off site impractical for anything time-sensitive. The environment includes airborne dust at concentrations that destroy air-cooled equipment, vibration, extreme ambient temperature range, humidity, and frequently no building suitable for IT equipment and no on-site technical staff.
