Coral Pod Platform

Coral Pod C40

The Coral Pod C40 is a 40ft ISO container carrying four 42U immersion tanks, 168 rack units and 800 kW of thermal capability in a 28.3 square metre footprint, with the coolant distribution, switchboard, filtration and controls integrated into a plant bay at one end. No external coolant distribution unit and no chilled water plant are required.

Fit

Where the C40 is the right answer

The C40 is the volume product. It suits enterprise, university, health authority and government deployments where a yard, a car park bay or a plant compound is available, and where the customer wants meaningful AI capacity without a construction programme.

It is also the unit that makes the density argument most clearly. A conventional 40ft air-cooled module holds more rack units and far less power. The C40 holds fewer rack units and roughly four times the kilowatts per square metre, which is the metric that matters when the constraint is heat rather than space.

Service

Service note, published

The C40 gives 770 mm of clear height above the tanks. That is sufficient for front-access service and insufficient for vertical extraction of an 8U node with a lifting frame, which needs approximately 906 mm. Where top-loading service is required, specify the C40-HC.

FAQ

Direct answers for infrastructure buyers.

What is the maximum power of a 40ft container data centre?

A Coral Pod C40 has 800 kW of thermal capability from four 42U immersion tanks rated at 200 kW each. Populated with current 8-GPU HGX class hardware it draws 214 kW to 300 kW depending on GPU generation, leaving headroom for future density increases without replacing the enclosure.

Does the C40 need an external CDU or chiller plant?

No. Coolant distribution, filtration, switchgear and controls are integrated into a 2,230 mm plant bay at one end of the container. Heat rejection is by roof or skid mounted dry cooler. No facility water connection and no external chilled water plant are required.
